The study, carried out by the National Radiological Protection Board (now HPA Radiation Protection Division), provides generic risk assessments for the emergency services. This site was launched on the 31st March 2003. It is intended to provide information to the general public, and especially the emergency services, on the RADSAFE response to a transport accident involving radioactive materials consigned by a RADSAFE member. This site represents the first stage in the further development of the RADSAFE site. It is anticipated that in the future further resources will be added, including information for responders. HPA RPD have been contracted to manage the site on behalf of RADSAFE.
