RADSAFE has evolved from a number of previous such plans. It is based on the requirements of the emergency services and draws on the principles of the national Chemsafe plan. These and other contingency arrangements are complemented by the National Arrangements for Incidents involving Radioactivity (NAIR).

Attendance on this course is restricted to RADSAFE Members only. RADSAFE run awareness courses for the emergency services.

The aim of the training course is to increase awareness of:

  1. the types of materials transported by members of the RADSAFE consortium;
  2. the actions that may be required to ensure personal protection of RADSAFE members responding to the accident; and
  3. providing advice for the protection of the public and emergency services in the event of an accident.

Fee

This course is available to employees of RADSAFE subscribing organisations only. The course is free of charge (morning coffee, buffet lunch and afternoon tea will be included).

Lecturers

The lecturers will be HPA Radiation Protection Division staff and guest speakers who are specialists in the topics covered by the course.
