About RADSAFE
RADSAFE is a private company limited by guarantee that offers mutual assistance in the event of a transport accident involving radioactive materials belonging to a RADSAFE member.
Statement of Intent
To be a mutual-aid association whose members collaborate, sharing knowledge and experience, to define and manage initial emergency response procedures for incidents occurring in Great Britain during transportation of members' radiological materials.
Radsafe facilitates:
- Sharing and development of knowledge amongst its members to enhance the initial response to transport incidents
- Coordination of member-led initial responses to radiological transport incidents involving members' materials
- Provision of advice from members to Emergency Services
Radsafe provides:
- Training and advice to members and their responders on initial response requirements for transport incidents
- Awareness Training to emergency services on members initial response to transport incidents
- Guidelines and protocols for incident response for its members
Radsafe informs:
Policy Makers, Regulators and Stakeholders (e.g. Emergency Services) by channelling the collective knowledge and experience of its members.
